"Years ago, a friend let me in on the secret and took me to meet Jelena in her workshop studio in the East Village. I had a vague idea and desire for a personal cuff bracelet in mind. We mostly talked about things totally unrelated to the piece. Then she asked me about my children. This morphed into her announcing – “ok I got it.” I wrote a check and waited. She mentioned engraving but that was all I had to go on. When my bracelet arrived it was magnificent and, yet, totally rock-and-roll and under-the-radar. From afar, it seemed to be just gorgeous silver scroll details and then when very close, it came into focus as an entwinement of my name with the names of my four children. It’s magical. Everyone stops me when I have it on. I’ve collected many more pieces over the years and most days you’ll find me wearing at least one."-Kristin Fine
